Status

At one point during the inaugural Budweiser Made in America: Los Angeles music festival, I was jumping on top of a bus shelter in front of LA City Hall to Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees” and “Backseat Freestyle.” It was a weirdly metaphysical musical moment — we had taken oven a public space for a private event to scream our lungs out to songs about the corrupting influence of a m.a.a.d city.
